1. Delete in the app
- Open SA Logbook.
- Go to Settings › Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Read the warning, download your logbook if you still need it, and confirm.
Uninstalling the app does not delete your account or your cloud backup. Cancel your subscription separately in the Google Play app (Profile › Payments & subscriptions › Subscriptions) so you aren't charged again.
2. Delete by email
Can't open the app? Email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my SA Logbook account". We'll confirm it's you, delete the account, and reply when it's done (within 30 days).
3. Before you delete: keep your logbook
SARS requires you to keep your logbook for five years from the date you submit your tax return. Once your account is deleted we can't recover it. Download the SARS-format PDF and CSV for every tax year you might need (Export › choose the tax year and vehicle) before you delete.
4. What we delete
- Your account (email, name, password or Google sign-in link, two-step verification settings).
- All trips, routes, reasons, places, clients and reimbursement claims.
- Vehicles, odometer readings and odometer photos.
- Your cloud backups.
When you confirm, your account is closed straight away. Your data is permanently deleted within 30 days; the grace period lets you change your mind if you deleted by mistake (just email us). Copies in encrypted system backups are overwritten within a further 30 days.
5. What we may keep
Google Play keeps its own records of your purchases. We may keep a minimal record that an account was deleted, and anything the law requires us to keep, for as long as the law requires. Nothing we keep is used for any other purpose.
